my only real gripe with this episode is that I'm not a big fan with how they made alys and helaena the "back to the future" type of seer or witch who do things like tell daemon and aemond explicitly how they will die or have them see centuries into the future like watching a reels youtube clip. i liked it better when the realm between mysticism and reality was more blurred, and visions could have multiple meanings, or even no meaning at all. and it was the characters who decide what to believe or not believe. instead I feel like we got the lazier "look into my crystal ball and see your future" kind of magic
#house of the dragon#hotd spoilers#hotd#house of the dragon spoilers#it might not even make sense on how im explaining it but it just feels like there's too much fantasy at once#where daemon is like this enlightened 'winter is coming' person#and aemond now knows how he's going to die by reading the spark notes of his history chapter#i liked it better when helaena talked in riddles#and daemon just thought he was being drugged

Aegon never held a strong friendship with his sister, Helaena. They had nothing in common and having a conversation with her felt like navigating a labyrinth. A labyrinth full of riddles that he needed to solve in order to pass through doorways. His love for Helaena only ever extended as much as a brother’s love for his sister could in normal families. He was equally as protective of her as he was annoyed by her.
He would get annoyed at her hyperfixation of insects and other vermin. He would get annoyed when she moved at her own pace, or flat out didn’t listen when being commanded to do something by him or literally anyone else. He’d get annoyed when she didn’t look at him when he talked to her, or derailed the conversation to talk about something unimportant. Most of all it annoyed him how much his mother ran to her and coddled her whenever Helaena was slightly uncomfortable. However, when Helaena was uncomfortable, even by small things by the standards of everyone else, it was like the world was ending.
That was when Aegon’s protectiveness would come through. Helaena’s fits would be explosive, sometimes destructive. It had gotten better as she got older, but that only meant that if something was happening, it was much worse than rearranged furniture, or a stain on her sleeve that she was convinced was an omen of death. From the day they were betrothed, Aegon was forced to spend more time with her (to establish some sort of romantic bond with her. Really, his mother asked for the impossible), and over time he recognized the warning signs and learned through trial and error how to calm her down. These fits had started to become fewer over the years, and eventually the possibility of them being married dwindled with his father’s growing health and dislike of the match. Despite all that time wasted, Aegon was still the first to be summoned to calm his sister when she needed it.
That night, Aegon returned from Flea Bottom from a failed quest to find a new platinum blonde to conquer in his usual preferred whore houses. He was drunk, blue balled, and a bit frustrated when they only offered brunettes that he’s had dozens of times. By the time he reached Maegor’s Holdfast, he was tired beyond belief. He silently cursed his ancestors for making the castle incredibly inconvenient to navigate, particularly for drunkards such as himself.
Aegon rounded the corner, just in time to see her stumbling and groaning in pain, hands grasping at her leg. He quickly sobered and went over to her, hands reaching out to grasp her shoulders. Her eyes were glazed over by thick tears and a fog that reminded him of his sister.
Something happened, something terrible had happened. But a quick glance of her form showed him no physical wounds. She wasn’t bleeding, but her leg seemed to pain her a great deal. Valeana was a disheveled, and the thought that someone raped her had immediately crossed his mind.
“I hate him. I hate him, I hate him, I hate him!”
Aemond? Would his brother actually be capable of such a thing?
Fear and doubt flushed out the alcohol from his veins. He wouldn’t get straight answers from her, not when she is in this mind set. Brushing her tears from her face, Aegon concluded that a distressed Valeana Celtigar was almost as bad as a distressed Helaena. Perhaps it was divine intervention that he happened upon her in this state before anyone else.
The apartments he shared with his siblings weren’t that far from there, so he guided her to his quarters. When the guards posted at the doors looked at him curiously, veiled with concern and assumptions on their minds, Aegon gave them a pointed look.
“It is not what it looks like. Something’s happened, but I do not want you to alert a Maester until I figure out what it is. Swear to me your silence?”
The knights bowed their heads, then replied in unison, “I swear it, my Prince.”
With a stiff nod, Aegon helped Valeana enter the apartments and into his private solar. He would not be able to keep her there until dawn, he knew. If people saw her exiting in the morning, the gossip would be like wildfire and before he could even blink, they would be at the altar in front of a Septon, swearing their vows and exchanging cloaks. First, he needed to get her to calm down, then he would summon his sister.
They entered his bedchamber, and he nudged the door closed with his foot to give them privacy. Then, Aegon helped her onto the edge of his bed after he pried her arms from his neck. Her entire body was shaking; her trembling fingers grasped at her leg, as she gasped in pain.
“Let me see,” he bent down, but when he tried to lift her robe and nightgown, she panicked and shrieked. Immediately Aegon lifted his hands and stepped back.
Valeana folded into her body, her forehead nearly touching her knee, and both of her hands grasped at her calf as long groans emitted from deep in her chest. She was starting to gasp for breath, allerting Aegon immediately. Bending down to a knee, he grabbed her hands, forcing his fingers under her grip.
“Valeana, look at me,” He craned his neck down to her knees to try to catch her eyes, “I need you to breathe.” With his free hand, he cupped her cheek and gently forced her to look up so he could anchor her stare to his. Her pupils were completely dilated, like how Helaena’s got when she had lost her grip on reality. Aegon’s grip on her cheek was firm as she tried to pull away from it.
“Eh-eh, it’s just me, Egg. Just silly ol’ Aegon, remember? Darling, I need you to breathe, like this—” He took a deep inhale through his nose and exhaled through his lips.
She blinked at him, which allowed a rogue tear fall over the apple of her cheek down to her dry lips. With shaky shoulders and a constricted throat, Valeana took in an uneven breath. When she exhaled it came out stuttering through pouted lips.
“That’s it, that’s it, now again,” He inhaled the same time as she did, and then exhaled.
They stayed like that, breathing in and out for a few minutes until her body stopped shivering and her shoulders relaxed. Every few moments she would moan or groan from a wound that the prince still could not identify. Through the pain, he would gently encourage her with a soft, “That’s it, Val, keep going.” Eventually, Aegon felt his efforts working when the full weight of her head dropped in his hands, and the muscles in her limbs loosened.
He grinned, tapping his fingers gingerly on her cheeks, “There you go, Crab Cake. You know this isn’t what I had in mind when I imagined you in my bed. The breathing hard part, yes–”
“Shut up, Egg,” her eyes fluttered closed, chest heaving heavily as she continued to level her breathing.
He gave a soft laugh, “There’s my girl.”
Valeana’s eyes gently opened, her mind still in a fog, but if she had to relate it to anything now, it was more like a dense humidity. The kind of humidity that makes every part of you exhausted. Her tongue ran over her dry bottom lip, “I’m sorry. It must be so late.”
Aegon gave a shrug, “I should be thanking you. I’ve never felt more sober.”
From a mixture of exhaustion and delirium, a chuckle shook her shoulders. She brought her hands to her face in an attempt to control her giggles. Aegon, still on his knees before her, remained silent, a small, kind smile upon his face as he watched her. He decided he quite liked her like that – laughing, that is. But then he was reminded of the distress she was in only ten minutes ago, and that smile fell.
“Valeana,” his hand crept onto her right knee, palm facing up in an invitation for her to hold his hand. “What happened?”
She stopped laughing to take in a sharp inhale, the butt of her palms reached up to press firmly in her eyes. When she finally pulled away, she blinked rapidly and looked down at his hand on her knee. Surprising herself, she dropped hers onto her thigh and allowed the tips of her fingers to curl around Aegon’s.
“He pushed me,” the words came out painfully. Her brows furrowed and her lips pursed, “In the library. I just-I just touched his arm and—” a stuttered sigh released through her lips. “It just felt–it just… everything all over again. I thought– fuck, I’m sorry, I cant–” Her hands were back on her face, fingers digging into her skin before combing through her hairline.
“No, no, shh, it is fine,” Aegon took her wrists and pulled them away from her face. “It’s fine…. Are you hurt? Do you need a Maester? What about your leg…” He looked down at the one she was holding earlier.
She shook her head vigorously, “No, no, please… don’t call the Maester. I don’t want my dad to know. He’ll make it worse, please, just… I’m just so tired.”
“Are you sure? You looked like you were in a lot of pain.”
Valeana shook her head again, a little softer this time, “I’m fine, really – it does that sometimes… It feels like something is there, but there isn't.”
“What do you mean?”
There was a clear hesitation. Her eyes didn’t meet his curious gaze, but eventually her hands moved down to the length of her robe as she pulled up the fabric and then her nightgown underneath. Aegon watched intently in slow anticipation, until he realized what he was looking at. There was polished oak wood where her calf and foot should have been and a sophisticated and complex ball joint for an ankle. His eyes roamed higher, where he could see the wood cutting off at the knee, before continuing around her thigh where it was secured by various straps and buckles.
This was beyond surprising for multiple reasons. He had no idea that she had lost her leg – he had clear memories of the Maesters at the time righting it properly, and putting her in a split. Clearly, it wasn’t enough. He didn’t know anything about infections or anatomy, but there had to be a reason for it to be amputated. The other surprising reason was that he had not seen this the other day when he was hiding under her dress. Then again, she was wearing very tall, thick red stockings. Now that he thought about it longer, he did see a strap around her thigh, but he had assumed it was a garter that was holding up her stocking.
Valeana put her skirts back down and wrapped her arms around her legs, “Sometimes I feel things there… But there is nothing, because there is nothing. I don’t know how to explain it.”
Aegon nodded stiffly, eyes still on her left leg, now hidden under the curtains of her robe. Finally he pulled his gaze away and returned it to her, “I’m going to get Helaena.”

⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
“We’re lost, Aemond!”
“We’re not lost, we’re just…” Aemond stopped walking as he craned his neck up to look at the leafy ceiling of the Godswood. “A little off track.”
A simple picnic in the woods had gone amiss when Aemond insisted on going deeper into the thicket, away from the judging eyes of his brother and nephews. They were aware of his friendship with Valeana, but not the extent of how close they were. And while Aemond did not want to give up his companion, he did not want to give his brother more arrows for his quiver.
Aemond also simply wanted a peaceful moment between him and his friend… quite frankly, his only friend if he thought too closely on it. No interruptions, no curious or amused stares by the kingsguard or other adults. Typically they remained around the fringes of the forest, near the Heart Tree, since Valeana wasn’t good with steep hills and long treks. But, he had a plan; there was a clearing near the bubbling brook that would only take them twenty minutes to get to. There was a large weeping mulberry tree that he wanted her to see. Valeana loved the berries, but he also thought a picnic underneath its protective canopy would be the perfect setting for…
And he blushed at the thought.
His first kiss…
Unfortunately, it did not go as planned, and he had no one else but himself to blame. Valeana sat on a rock, breathing heavy, face flushed and hair slightly wet from the sweat building up on her brow and upper lip. He could tell she was self conscious about it, the way she kept on dabbing a handkerchief on her face and looking away from him. Valeana was always hot, always sweating. He remembered she used to wear lighter colours, but her stepsister would scold her for having sweat stains under her pits. Then, Valeana started to wear darker colours, which did not help with the glare of the sun.
Still, he always found her flushed appearance enduring. She looked like a porcelain doll with a red button nose, and peridot gems for eyes.
They conversed, like they usually did. All the while Aemond tried to inch his way closer to her, but always found something in the way. A twig holding his tunic, or a rock prodding his backside. Val was blissfully unaware, too busy gazing up at the natural umbrella of the mulberry tree and the light that peaked through.
Once he managed to worm his way to her side as subtly as possible, he found himself fidgeting with his hands nervously, barely listening to a thing she was saying. Something about how a specific berry looked like a mole on Floris’ back. Aemond turned to her just as she was munching on a particularly large one, with her tongue flicking out and licking up the juices that stained her lips. Subconsciously he mimicked the movement.
“What’s wrong?” She asked when she noticed him zoning out.
He chickened out. Once he realized he was staring, Aemond flushed and moved away from her.
Now they were lost in the Godswood, and they were losing daylight. The bright blue sky was now becoming duller and grey as the clouds gathered for a possible light rain for the evening.
“A little off track?” She repeated his words as she looked down at a steep hill they were expected to climb down. Valeana turned to him, face wholly unamused, “Aemond, my prince, my friend. We are practically in the Vale.”
Aemond couldn’t help but laugh, at both the overstatement and the look on her face. “We are still in the Red Keep, Val. We can walk in any direction, and eventually we will find a castle wall.”
“And what will we do when we find the wall, Aem? Grow wings and fly over it? Will you launch me over it like a scorpion or katapult?”
It was difficult to wipe the smile from his face, but he managed to suppress the chuckle. Instead, he started to scale down the hill, then waved for her to follow, “C’mon, if we go down here, it will save us time…”
When he didn’t feel her presence next to him, he turned sharply to see her looking down the hill with a visible frown and worry in her eyes.
“Aemond, that’s too steep, I’ll … I’ll go around. I’ll meet you there.”
“Nonsense,” He shook his head and extended his hand, “Take my hand, and you’ll be fine.”
“But what if I fall–”
“You won't,” He gave her a reassuring smile, and flexed his fingers to encourage her to take his hand. “I won’t let you fall, ever.”
She looked at him skeptically, “Well, you can’t say ever–”
“Valeana!”
With a huff, she took his hand, “Fine.”
It took time, but the two managed to scale the steep hill with only a few close calls. When they made it to the bottom, Valeana heaved a long sigh of exhaustion and victory.
“See? It was not so bad,” Aemond watched in mild amusement as she bent, hand on her knee – the other still in his – as she tried to catch her breath.
She sent him a withering glare, “Oh, yes, string bean. Piece of pigeon pie.” Valeana straightened up, brushing the wrinkles of her dress – of all the good that’ll do – and looked about where they ended up. She could vaguely see the white spidery branches of the Heart Tree and its blood red leaves in the distance.
“We’re almost there,” he confirmed her speculation, but there is still a great distance, even if they could see their destination from there.
“Uh huh,” her voice dripped with sarcasm. “Now we just need to survive an impending storm, and wolves and bears and hellhounds–”
“Hellhounds?” He snorted, “What do you think we keep in here, Valeana?”
“My imagination is wild,” She replied with a sigh. They started to walk onward, towards the direction of the weirwood tree. “It is especially vivid when I’m afraid.”
Aemond still had her hand in his. With her confession, he gave it a little squeeze, “I’ll protect you, Val. From whatever beasts that lurk around us.”
She raised her eyebrows at him, “And what of the beasts that lurk in my mind? Would you protect me from those as well, Aemond?”
His grip on her hand tightened, “Even those. Especially those.”

⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
Another regrettable, regrettable mistake.
But Aemond doesn’t make mistakes. Not anymore. And yet there he was, staring at his hand like it was a foreign appendage; like it had moved on its own accord.
When he entered the library, he was tightly wound up after the bath. It had the complete opposite desired effect, and he blamed his cock for that. He was no better than Aegon in that regard, allowing depraved fantasies to weaken his will of mind. He wagered the celibate Cole didn’t have any words of wisdom for him to keep his loins protected from his own sinful thoughts, did he?
Aemond convinced himself that in the throes of lust, his mind simply grasped at the first faces that came to mind. Much like the dreams of his own mother and step sister he used to have – those, he was sure, meant absolutely nothing. And what happened in the bath was exactly the same. It meant nothing.
Aside from the comfort of his own bedchamber, or on the back of Vhagar amidst clouds and sky, the library was his place of peace. In the dead of night, no one was there, not even the overseeing Maester. However, when he entered and saw that his sanctuary had already been breached by none other than the object of his ire, Aemond bristled like an overstimulated cat.
He didn’t realize how tightly strung up he was until it became hindsight.
The heat of her hand, even through the fabric of his tunic, felt like hot iron. His body reacted impulsively, instinctually, and out of survival, like she was an enemy approaching from behind. Aemond immediately realized his mistake when his hands felt soft skin, familiar to him like a forgotten memory.
He froze, embarrassingly. Standing, staring at his hand as if it was not his, and before he finally registered what he had done, it was too late.
“Valeana–”
Aemond barely saw her in his panicked tunnelled vision. He saw the flurry of her robes and nightgown fall over her knees as she got to her feet, and a glimpse of the furrow on her brow just before she turned away and fled the library. He found himself taking strides toward her, but he stopped midway.
This is for the best, a voice of reason told him. It sounded a lot like Ser Criston. Was this his mind protecting his heart? If it was, then why did it feel like he had stabbed it himself?
He turned back to the book of his ancestors propped on the pedestal, and then back to the door. Remaining here would be easy, and probably the smartest thing he could do. But then came a second voice, more nagging the first, and it came to him in the form of his mother.
She is a lady in distress, Aemond. It is not safe.
He shut his eye and sighed heavily through his flared nose. If Alicent learned of what he had done, and then allowed Valeana to run out of the Library during the hour of the owl, she would whip him herself.
In the end, and as always, his mother won his eternal struggles. With stiff strides, he left the comfort of the library and stepped into the corridor, only to find it void of life. Looking left and right, and then ahead of him, he could hear nor see a living soul. Hedging his bets, he decided to walk ahead, and after a few strides he saw something on the ground: a woman’s red slipper.
Aemond bent to snatch it up and examine it. He didn’t get a good look at her feet when she had pushed herself off the ground, but he doubted many women would leave their footwear behind unless they were running away. At least he knew now that he was on the right track.
His steps became a little faster, though as he continued on for another minute or two, he realized he was getting closer to the apartments. When he reached the grand door that led to the wing he shared with his siblings, he paused to face the two knights guarding it.
“Have you seen the Celtigar girl in these halls?”
The two men exchanged a look, one Aemond immediately caught with suspicion. He gritted his jaw and took a step towards them, “Where is she?”
The knight bit his bottom lip before speaking, “We were told–”
Aemond pushed passed through them into the doors. The vestibule between each private quarters was grand, giving room for a dining table, and a lounge in the balcony that faced the small courtyard. Aegon’s quarters were on the far left, to which he confidently strode to, sweeping through his solar until he got to his brother’s bedchamber door. That is when he stopped himself.
He could hear heavy breathing through the wood, coupled by soft moaning and groaning. Then he heard his damnable brother’s voice:
“That’s it, Val, keep going.”
That was it.
That was when winter claimed Aemond’s heart, and turned his blood into rivers of ice.
Note: I know you're wondering.... "Celt... this looks like an Aegon x ofc in disguise." I promise you it isn't. I am a slow burn novella writer. SIT TIGHT, BESTIES, IT'S GONNA BE A BUMPY RIDE.

Yandere Aemond Targaryen x Older sister reader
WARNING: MENTIONS OF RAPE(not to the reader but to an oc of mine), AEGON BEING WEIRD, Mentions of children getting married, angst( a little?)
AUTHOR'S NOTE: SORRY FOR TAKING THIS LONG TO MAKE THIS, AND I'M SORRY FOR NOT PUTTING THAT MUCH YANDERE AEMOND, BUT I PROMISE YOU THERE WILL BE MORE IN THE NEXT CHAPTER.
(Chapter 1)
(Chapter 2)
CHAPTER 3
Helaena there you are! Helaena looked at you as you ran toward her, you sat beside your sister who was looking at a bug she had just found.
I don't think it can see... Said Helaena, Why? You asked, slowly getting more curious about the bug she was holding, she did not answer your question, just simply staring at you.
I- um... I mean if you don't want to tell me then it's fine. You spoke, you never really understood why Helaena never talked clearly, She liked to speak in riddles, never giving the real meaning behind them. You never really cared, you sometimes have fun trying to find out what her riddle meant, it was like a game to you.
You just kept quiet and continued to observe the insect, you loved the time you spent with your sister, even though she never really talked, it was still calming. Aegon did not deserve Helaena, you knew what Aegon does with the maids, and you felt disgusted by him. You don't even want to think what he might do to your sister. Sometimes you wish that it was Jace instead of Aegon, sure Jace can be a bully sometimes, like what he does to Aemond, but you still think he would treat Helaena better than Aegon.
Suddenly a maid ran towards you and Heleana, Princess Helaena your Mother is calling you, said the maid in a hurry.
Helaena sighed, not wanting to go, yet she did not have a choice. She stood up and went to the maid, both of them leaving you behind.
A frown was on your face as you watched them walk away, you were alone again, and you did not have anyone to talk to, and surely you did not want to talk to Aegon, he would be probably drunk or harassing the maids again, and you could not really talk to Aemond since you did not really know where he is, so it's only you and yourself.
You sighed as you stood up, dusting off the dust from your dress. Why not a walk around the halls? you said to yourself as you started to walk.
You had a dragon, named Larix, but you were not allowed to fly on him yet since he is a big dragon, and you might get hurt or worse die, you think that was a stupid rule that your parents made for you since you already flew on him once when you claimed him, but I guess you did not have a choice, it's either waiting until your old enough or will never ride him.
Your parents were protective of you, when they found out that you claimed a dragon they went ballistic, they complained that the dragon was too dangerous for a little child like you, yet they still arranged a marriage between their daughter to their son, even though they are still children, funny right? And sooner or later Aegon will bed Heleana, which is disgusting because they are still children. You felt bad for Helaena and Aegon, even after what Aegon did, you still felt bad for him being forced to marry his sister.
But what can you do? They are Targaryen, it's normal for their house, yet it still is messed up.
Sooner or later, you will get betrothed to some man, you do not really want to get married yet, but what can you do?
You pray to the Gods that the man your parents will betrothed you to someone nice and respectful, and not some old lord who only wants to bed little girls and carry his heirs.
Sometimes you wish that women get the same respect as men in this world, women in this are known as "weak" or "fragile" and only used for pleasure and to carry heirs. They say "women can't rule a kingdom", saying that only a man can, since they are "strong" or "powerful".
When a woman sleeps with a man, they call her a whore, but when a man sleeps with a thousand people, no one blinks an eye.
You had a friend before, from a wealthy house, her name was Esther, she was 14 years old when her father betrothed her to some lord.
At first, she thought that he was nice, but on their wedding night, that lord raped her, she pleaded for him to stop, yet he did not listen.
She died from giving birth to her son, her husband did not care, only remarrying someone else.
You missed Esther, she was your only friend. The last time you saw her was when she visited you, she was 6 months pregnant, she had a fake smile on, hiding her true emotions.
You remembered when you and her were alone in your chamber, she cried in your arms, telling you about how her husband beat her every day when she didn't follow his orders. You were in rage when she told you that, you wanted to speak to her husband, but she pleaded you not to, saying she would only get beat up more.
You remembered how much you cried when you received the letter from her mother, telling you that Esther, your friend, died last night while giving birth to her son.
You never forgot her, and you will never will. She was a good friend, and you wish you could get revenge on her husband for what he did.
You wanted to shout at her father, for making her marry that piece of shit, and for not believing her when she told him about what he was doing to her.

- is not that at all and you know it... you have always been the one I've chosen to be my wife... when your mother anounced you were going to started looking for suitors I wanted to put myself there is not about winning
- then what is it?
- I love you...- the gasp around the table as Alicent and Rhaenyra were still there listening - I've always loved you... and I dont want you to leave ever again not to Dragonstone or anyother place with anyone else... I want to be your husband and you my wife because I can't bare the thought of you leaving again - your eyes soften conciderably as Alicent hold her breath... Rhaenyra still had her doubts to give her only daughter to the greens but she couldn't deny her brother being sincere woth his feelings... - you don't need to say it back.. just don't leave me again
- Aem....- you couldn't even talk... and he got the gift out of one poket opening it up
- with our mothers as witnesses please accept this gift... - accept me you almost heard he really said
- your marriage signified the union of our family... and I believe is due time for that... I refused that posibility once... now things could be so different..
- is alright... our children can be very happy but is still y/n choise...- you looked at your mother, the queen and then to Aemond and you smile holding your hand to him, Aemond had a playfull smirk in his lips taking the ring and place it in your finger
- congratulations to both of you! - you grab into his hand and Aemond smile the first real one you've seen and you realise there was no other choise for you than him

why sudden hate on darklinas if team green stans rha*nicent, rhaegon ? Atleast Darklina was meant to be canon
Oh God🤦🏻♀️ !!!!!! Who is hating darklinas... moreover just bcz I mentioned them once😭 ( btw it was hated enough by it's author herself🤣 I can very much say that after wasting my time grisha books. sorry not sorry 🤷🏻♀️)
Before commenting anything some of u really need to read with open eyes n brain instead of ass.
I never hated darklinas or Darkling. I ship them too. Atleast book or whole story should be good enough to even hate or like any character first of all which it never had😑. Darklina is like very much any problematic random Ya bad guy and good girl silly ships u see on daily basis. Nothing more bad than any other Ya ships.
( LB n SJM are not even good writer. I don't like their work at all. Just over hyped to me. Honestly I still think how snb was not cancelled just after S1. If u have problem wf one of my post which wasn't even about them🤷🏻♀️ it's ur delulu headache buddy. I don't even involve with them much someone just asked me including Darkling's name that's y I replied... Btw I knew this would happen, bc If someone points one bad thing, all of them will cry their ass out.)
the point was something else n ur question is also wrong. Problematic has nothing to do with canon or non canon for ur info. Majority of YA canon ships are problematic but you can like whatever the f u want.
I never said that Rhaenicent is any healthy ship. Rhaenicent, Daemyra, alysmond , helaegon n majority of ships in hotd are problematic. It's just their Stans fighting is like one idiot jumping on another idiot. That's what I am always mentioning. That's just funny and extremely stupid to like one problematic ship or character n attacking on Stans of other problematic ships n characters.
Some of them shamelessly fight as if their life depends on it. It's really dumb honestly 😂. No one is stopping them btw they can do the heck they want to but also they should not even have problem if someone is pointing out their silliness that's it🤷🏻♀️. It's a free fandom ! Just bcz I mentioned some of TB Stans hyporcrisy once , idiots thought I am team green when I am srsly far away from this nursery kid color fight
Same way many of green stans also developed this stupid habit of making their characters as pure Angels just because of the changes done by the show itself which is rubbish instead of that they should really go for better storyline for every character. " Them saying no one should support TB after BnC is....😑" Like y ? Not saying that it was bad but bad things were done from both sides. Aemond n Daeron would have done way worse with Jace n strong boys if all their parents were dead honestly.
just like Alicent's anger on Aemond losing an eye was absolutely correct that same way Rhaenyra's anger was also justified, so would Helaena's anger as she and her children were having no fault in all of this
You can like the villian and their reasons for becoming the villain but I would not say they didn't deserve their death or punishment n I would not give any apology reasons ' like no he wasn't the bad guy or he wasn't a villian'. That's what I am always pointing but logic and GOT/FNB die hard Stans are never at same place 🤡
And regarding ur take one darkling or Darklina, I don't hate Darkling but ye he's not among my fav villians or any good written at all. Not only him, I don't like any single character from that book.
If I love Homelander, Klaus, soldier boy, Tom riddle, Rafe, Billy, Jerome, Roose bolton, Euron Greyjoy.., do you really think I would be anti Darkling or care fr him enough 😂 like these r just some tv screen villains I like but if I started talking about my actual favourite bad guys from Grim dark fantasy novels like Jorg ancrath n many more, Darkling would look like little twink infront of them😭
so pls think.. using your brain is not a big deal 🙏🏻

When their eyes met, Helaena felt her heart start to race. She quickly looked away. Looking at the ground, she thought about his words.
He wouldn’t be mad at her. Maybe this conversation would delay their arrival to the gathering. There wasn’t anything to be anxious about, Helaena concluded.
The Princess contemplated how to come about the topic, for the second time. She didn’t want to have a repeat of just moments ago, when she tried to speak her mind and nothing valuable came out.
Feeling this way had reminded Helaena of the beginning of her and Aegon’s marriage. It had been uncomfortable, to say the least. Any time she had wanted to ask him something, or even simply say a few words, she’d been riddled with anxiety. She thought he had hated her, and she tried her hardest to give him space. She was grateful that hadn’t turned out to be the truth.
She used to wish that she was married to a different brother or one of her nephews. Just anyone else that she knew how to talk to. But now, she was glad that wish had not come true. She could not imagine herself with anyone else other than Aegon. Maybe, she thought, The Seven had put these two together for a reason, and so she would thank them every night in her prayers.
Maybe after this talk, the two of them would feel better. Then they would go to the gathering, leave as quickly as possible, and then everything would be fine.
These thoughts comforted Helaena, and so she finally decided to speak. She let out a breath. Be like mother, she always speaks her mind. She’s brave.
She threaded her fingers through his hair once again, and started to section off pieces for a braid. “Does father’s illness bother you? Are you sad he will be gone soon? We haven’t truly… talked about it. I am sorry if this is not a topic you want to talk about but I can not help but be curious about your feelings… I can help you, if need be.”
She continued, not sparing a breath. “It makes me sad that we have not spent time with him like most children spend time with their own fathers…” Helaena finally finished, feeling relieved she had gotten the words out, this time the way she wanted them to. She continued braiding her husband’s hair, waiting for his response.
An Anxious Beginning to the Night
Part of @asongofgoldenfireandblackblood
( Starter with @goldaegontargaryen )
Greetings were said, hugs were given, love was shared. The Targaryen family was reunited. That was how things had gone once Aegon and Helaena had come to Kings Landing with their children. The heavy cloud of Viserys’ illness hanging over everyone’s heads was still there, but made lighter and bare-able by their shared bonds. Everything was pleasant, nothing could possibly go wrong, Helaena had thought to herself. That was until she unfortunately remembered it was time to prepare herself for the gathering being held this night.
Pacing around her and Aegons chambers, Helaena looked for something, anything, to do to forget the upcoming gathering. Something that would help someone, something to look at, just anything. Her outfit was already prepared, her hair done, all of the gifts she had made for her loved ones finished. There was nothing to do but wait, and waiting made her more anxious than she already was.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to see everyone, she was more than happy to talk to her family members. It was that there were more than just her family members coming, people she didn’t know. People who would look at her, stare at her, expect a response when they asked a question. Even when she’d practice talking to others by staring in the mirror and pretending her reflection was someone else, it never worked. Helaena would mess things up, become tongue tied, and embarrass herself every time.
She knew hiding behind her husband wouldn’t be an appropriate way to present herself at this event, but it was appealing nonetheless. She continued to move from place to place in the room, looking at every detail, brushing away any small amount of dust, moving any item that didn’t look quite right where it was.
She had almost forget Aegon was there with her, when she felt his presence next to her. “Oh! Husband, is there anything you need me to do for you?” She smiled big, but didn’t quite look him in the eyes. “I just finished getting ready, can I help you prepare?”

OF DRAGONS AND LAMBS - CHAPTER 2 (AEMOND TARGARYEN X READER)
Chapter Summary: There are two rules you should take into consideration. One, you should never insult Prince Aemond Targaryen. Two, you should never forget him. Because he remembers you and the riddle you asked him when you two were just children.
Tags for this chapter: Slow Burn / Sexual Tension/ Angst / Canon-Typical Violence / Blood and Gore/ Children Abuse / Explicit Language
Author’s notes: As you will see, I’m started building the relationship between Reader and Aemond and we’re now entering the “slow burn” part of this fan fiction. If you find the tension between those two intense, you haven’t seen anything yet.
[CHAPTER 1]

CHAPTER 2: THE RIDDLE
120AC - King’s Landing (9 years ago)
Aemond could feel his scar burning and tightening under the many layers of bandage covering half of his childish and pale face. He wanted to get rid of them, rip them off and his skin along with them. He wanted to shout his rage and his pain as loud as he could as his little fingers would struggle to prise the white cloth loose. But he did none of these things. Instead, he stared blankly at his mother talking to the maester. “Are you certain the infection will not spread or fester, maester?” The Queen worried. Her son had spent days in bed with the highest fever she had ever seen, tossing and turning endlessly, moaning in pain even though he had never been the type to complain. A vision of horror for any mother. “The eye has been removed. Fever might persist for a few more days but the prince is out of danger. He just needs to rest now.” The Queen thanked the old maester and he left. Once the door shut, Alicent rushed to her son and sat on the bed to cup his face between her hands and kiss the top of his silver head. The young prince winced but the pain was not what bothered him the most. What bothered him the most was his mother’s pity. He was tired of it. Ever since Lucerys took his eye, that’s the only emotion he had seen on his mother’s face. “My poor sweet son.” “I told you, mother. There is no need to mourn me.” Aemond finally spoke with a weak voice that made Alicent tighten her embrace around her second son. “Besides, aren’t you expected somewhere else?” “What are you talking about? A mother’s place is by her son.” “But today is the beginning of the celebrations, isn’t it?” Despite his current health condition, Aemond had somehow not lose track of time. He knew which day it was for he had seen the colourful lanterns in the streets and heard the joyful hubbub through his bedroom windows. Plus, his older siblings, Aegon and Helaena, had mentioned the event a few times during their visits. And while his sister had wished him a good recovery and expressed her hope to see him back on his feet for the very special day, Aegon had only talked about all the depravity he had planned. “Ale and girls. Soon, you’ll know how good both are.” Which certainly was Aegon’s clumsy way to show he wanted his brother to get better. “I do not need to go.” “Yes, you do. It’s your duty as queen.” Alicent’s almond eyes widened, stunned once more by her son’s maturity and his sense of duty which he had undoubtedly inherited from her. She stood up, speechless and left his room in silence. Only when she closed the door did she realise she had forgotten to tell Aemond that her duty as his mother was more important.
The young prince stayed in bed for the rest of day, alone, his short nails furiously scratching the bandage around his face hoping it would ease the annoying itching and the endless burn. He couldn’t sleep, the anger fuming inside of him preventing him from finding any rest. All he could do was waiting and let his hatred boil and boil like a fire growing in a dragon’s throat before it spits. And soon he found the cheerful noise outside infuriating. How could people be so happy when he was in such pain? In a thoughtless display of rage, Aemond grabbed one of the many pillows on his bed and threw it through the window with a muffled scream. Only when the pillow landed in the yard outside, did he realise what he had done. “Fuck.” For a moment, he thought about what his mother would say and what pathetic excuse he could find. But he didn’t want to find an excuse. He didn’t want Alicent to find out what he had done, that he had lost control. So, he slowly got up. His legs were wobbly and weak and it took the young prince a few seconds to make his first step. With a slow and heavy hand, he grabbed a cloak and put it on his shoulder. And then he hid his face under the dark hood before leaving his room.
The stairs leading to the yard seemed endless but not once did Aemond think about going back to his room, his determination stronger than his pain. But when he finally arrived outside, exhausted and dizzy, he didn’t find the pillow on the sandy ground. He found it in a possession of a girl. You. You were Aemond’s age or perhaps slightly older, small, with a floral dress as pink as your childish rosy cheeks. And within your thin arms there was the feather pillow the prince had thrown out of the window. You were looking up clearly searching for the provenance of the flying object with an interrogative frown when the young boy approached you and snatched it from you. You gasped and protested immediately. “What do you think you’re doing?” “It’s mine.” “Yours, huh? Then mayhaps you should be careful with your belongings. It almost fell on my head.” “My deepest sympathies.” Aemond replied with sarcasm before wincing. His grimace didn’t go unnoticed and you frowned at his bandage-covered face concealed under his hood. He immediately looked down and tried to hide himself even more under his cloak as he found you curious eyes rather disconcerting. “May I ask—” “It’s greyscale!!” Aemond snarled. It was a lie obviously but he told it hoping the fear of contagion would make you run away. But you weirdly remained as close as you were. “I just wished to know why you threw a pillow out of a window.” You said. “It was never my intention to make you feel uncomfortable or to believe I was rude enough to ask what happened to you when it is clearly not my concern. I am sorry.” Aemond’s both eyes slightly widened in confusion even the one that was not in its socket anymore. A ghost reflex he hoped would be gone one day. He grimaced but your apologetic words were more overwhelming than the pain caused by his fresh scar. Never in his young life had anyone apologized to him. Not Aegon for all his high jinks. Not his nephews and cousins for beating him up. Not Lucerys for taking his eye. And even less his father for ignoring him. “Who are you?” “I am Y/N Stokeworth. And you?” “My name has no importance.” The silver-haired prince declared. The last thing he wanted was for his mother to know he had left his chambers or for anyone to discover that this mutilated face was once the face of the second son of Viserys Targaryen. “So, you can know my name but I am not allowed to know yours?” Aemond shrugged. “You can ask another question if you wish.” “Fine.” You knew exactly which question to ask. “Why did you throw your pillow out of the window?” You wanted to giggle but you quickly reconsidered. Clearly the boy before you was more of the serious type. “I was angry.” He confessed though he felt weird to do so. “At whom?” “At the rat who did this to me. The bastard took my eye.” Aemond snarled as he pointed at his missing eye. So much rage in such a little body was impressive and most unusual to you. So, you stared at the fiery emotion struggling to pop out of its flesh prison wondering how such a young boy could carry so much hatred. It was insane to see how it kept his fist clenched and ready to fight and how intense it burnt in his dark lilac iris. “What happened to it? The rat I mean.” “That’s the unfair part of the story. Nothing happened to it. His rat mother made sure of it.” The rage was now tinted by bitterness and disappointment, a thirst for justice that could be consuming. “I am not sure I understand.” “Rats are sneakier than dragons.” You frowned once more. The boy’s words sounded like nonsense to you. Rats and Dragons? What was that supposed to mean? “Have you been given milk of the poppy?” “Why?” “You’re talking in riddles.” “And you don’t like riddles?” “I don’t know if I like them. My handmaiden, Brunwina, often gives me a riddle when I’m being too … restless, to help me focus. But I haven’t been able to solve the last one she gave me actually. Would you like to help?” The proposition was not without a purpose. By offering Aemond to think about your riddle, you hoped that you could help him forget his rage for a short moment. A technique you had learnt from your handmaiden. Aemond shrugged, pretending to be cool, but deep down his usual love for challenge was exciting him. “What is your riddle?” You grinned and sat on one of the steps behind you. “We are going to be here for a while. You should sit down.” You tapped the stone and invited the boy to sit by your side. He stared at your hand for an instant before eventually joining you on the steps, careful to leave a seemly space between the two of you. “I am of no use to one, yet I am absolute bliss to two. The small boy gets it for nothing. The young man has to steal it. The old man has to buy it. To the young girl, I am faith. To the married woman, hope. And to the old maid, charity.” “Bread?” “I’ve already tried that. Let’s keep thinking.” You encouraged as you gazed with pride and joy at Aemond’s hands slowly relaxing on his thighs and at the rage leaving his lilac eyes. Lilac eyes??
129AC - King’s Landing (Today)
Only twice in your life have you feared to die. The first time was thirteen years ago when, on a trip back from Pentos, you had started experiencing the worst nausea ever. It could have been a mere sea sickness but after further examination, the maester in Stokeworth had come to the conclusion that you had caught a highly infectious disease. Despite the possibility of contagion, your mother, who was with child during that time, had refused to leave your bedside and she had powerlessly watched you losing more and more weight every day. She had prayed for days. She had begged the seven gods for your recovery until her wishes were finally granted. But soon the sickness came for her and she took your place in the very same bed you had been lying for more than a week. “It’s better to keep the contagion contained” The maester had said. Your mother died three days after and her baby along with her. And as if your own grief and guilt were not burdening enough for your small shoulders you had to carry the weight of your father’s rage and sorrow. “You’re going to sleep in that bed until you realise what you’ve done!” The punishment lasted for over a year until your father remarried and his new lady-wife reasoned with him. The second time was today. And even though the experience had been less traumatic, the terror had been more than overwhelming. You had always wished to see a dragon but you had never thought you’d see one up close, yet alone one so enraged. Princess Rhaenys and her dragon Meleys had made quite a brutal entrance during King Aegon’s coronation today. The large and formidable beast had popped out from the ground, roaring and furious and with her thorny body and tail she had started crushing all the citizens around her. Luckily for you, you had been in the balcony when it happened and you had only received a few stones during Meleys’ deadly rampage. Your husband, also present during the coronation, had shielded you the best he could. But no one had protected the woman next to you when a heavy rock had hit her head, crushing her skull like an eggshell before she fell to the ground, bleeding and dead, and all the people around you started trampling on her corpse, breaking each bone in her body. Seven hells, you could still hear the sounds in your head.
A knock to your door called you back to a most-welcome reality and you invited the person to come in. When you saw your handmaiden enter the room, the smile you thought could only be polite or sad today turned into a beam of joy and relief. “Brunwina!” You exclaimed as you stood up to take her in your arms. You were aware that this kind of familiar gesture was not conventional but you had stopped seeing Brunwina as a mere handmaiden years ago. The six-and-thirty years-old woman was your confident, your friend, the mother you had lost long ago. There was no one you could trust more than her. “Seven heavens, my lady. Are you alright?” She touched your face where a stone had hit you and left a bruise and a red scratch. “I am, yes. It is merely a scratch. The maester said it won’t leave any mark.” “When I heard you were at the Dragonpit when the attack happened, I got so scared for you, my lady.” You reassured your handmaid with a soft smile and a gentle grasp around her arms and she immediately relaxed. “I am surprised the King let you out of your cell already, Brunwina. But I am glad to have you back. I could use your nimble fingers.” “Of course, you could, my lady. Look at you. I can’t let you attend a royal feast with your hair dressed like that.” You both laughed but she was right. Your hair was indeed a real mess. The braids you had attempted to do for tonight coronation feast were barely symmetrical and none of them seemed to have a similar thickness. “Thank the Seven and Prince Aemond for releasing me.” “Prince Aemond? You weren’t release on King Aegon’s command?” Brunwina shook her head. “I am as surprised as you are, my lady. But Prince Aemond himself escorted the guards to my cell and demanded my immediate release. He said you needed me, my lady and that your septa and I were no longer hostages. What a strange young man.” “Indeed, and rude as well.” You could remember your meeting, how he had circled you, observed you and talked about you as if you were not standing before him. “If you say so, my lady. Although, if I may, he seemed very distinguished to me, at least more than his brother the King. He also looked more impressive than him and … weirdly older. It is hard to believe he is the second son.” “Careful Brunwina, one might think you are not insensible to young men or to Prince Aemond’s charms.” You teased. “Oh seven heavens no, my lady.” Brunwina shook her head frantically as she blushed in embarrassment. “I am a handmaiden. I know my place. And besides, I find him too menacing. I don’t know how one can even look at him in the eyes.” “In the eye, you mean.” You quickly corrected and immediately tried to hide your mischievous smirk, knowing how inappropriate it was to joke or let alone laugh at that sort of thing. But Brunwina’s funny astonishment forced the giggle out of your mouth. And soon your handmaid followed you in a burst of laughter that you both needed after such a rough day. Unfortunately, the reckless amusement was short-lived, stopped by the appalled stare of a young handmaid standing at the door with a green dress in her hands. When you and Brunwina noticed her, she walked away as quickly as she could. “Seven hells.” You cursed. You knew where the girl was going and what she was about to do. So did Brunwina who started shaking in terror. So, you rushed after the handmaiden, hoping to stop her but the Red Keep was a maze of corridors and by the time you exited your chambers the servant was already out of sight as if she had vanished in thin air. “Shit!”
***
Her hands flat on the cold stone ground, her head between her arms, Brunwina was crying on her knees, begging for Prince Aemond’s pardon and mercy. But he didn’t seem to care about her mumbling words or her undeniable submission to him. Actually, he didn’t seem to care about her presence at all. It was as if she did not exist, as if she was yet another carpet in his room, one he could walk upon without concern. He didn’t care about his own handmaiden either, who was standing a couple of steps behind him, still like a candelabrum, her brown eyes looking down at her feet. No all he seemed to care about was you, the only person in this room who dared staring back at him. “I could have you two back in your cell or maimed for being so insulting!” He roared; his voice as enraged as the darkness in his dark lilac eye. “Prince Aemond, I am so sorry. Please accept my apologies, my prince. Please, I beg your forgiveness.” Brunwina kept crying. “You may act as you wish in Castle Stokeworth, my lady. But in the Red Keep, people have eyes and ears everywhere. And you are a silly girl if you think you could mock your prince and then expect no one to find out.” “I didn’t think when I spoke, my prince, and I regret my offense.” You confessed with honesty. “But my handmaiden did not say anything, I swear to you on the old gods and the new. If someone deserve to be punished, it is I and I only.” The prince chuckled at your brave and honourable words and you wondered why. Was your behaviour misplaced? Amusing? Did he find you ridiculous? Or was he simply enjoying the fear he instilled in people, the power his royal status granted him? “She still laughed at your … little joke.” “She did not. She laughed at me for being so … silly.” You repeated his words, hoping agreeing with him a little would soothe him. “And I know I shouldn’t have joked, my prince. It was highly inappropriate and rude and I understand why it offended you. Please accept my apology and know it was never my attention to show you any lack of respect.” Your unwavering calm and strength plunged the room in a sudden dreadful silence. Prince Aemond’s glare lingered upon your face, his purple eye piercing as a thousand blades. But you remained as strong and proud as you could be, supporting his fiery look. “Leave us.” He commanded without looking away from you and you from him. Prince Aemond’s handmaid obeyed without an ounce of hesitation but Brunwina tried to fight his command with the little courage she had. You sensed her terrified look on you, her refusal to leave you alone. You even felt her tremble when the King’s brother said “Now!”. You gave her a quick nod to dismiss her and she eventually left. “Do you have any idea what happens to subjects who dare insult a member of the royal family?” Aemond finally asked when the door was closed. “I may have one but mayhaps my prince can enlighten me.” “We cut out their tongue or worse.” The silver-haired man declared with the intention to scare you. “Surely you must have heard what happened to Lord Vaemond Velaryon.” He added as he approached you and closed the small gap between the two of you. He was tall, way taller than you but your eyes didn’t look away from his. If he meant to impress you or to break you by towering you it would not work. “If it’s a tongue you want, take mine. I am the one who uttered what you consider an insult, not my handmaiden.” “You would accept a punishment that could leave you scarred for life when it can befall on your handmaiden?” “If it the kind of justice the Prince deems fair, then yes. Besides, it would not be the worst punishment of my life”
Perhaps you should have refrained from saying these last words because they certainly awoke whatever dragon was sleeping inside Prince Aemond who grabbed your jaw in his firm burning hand and brought your face closer to his. You were breathless now but your eyes could not leave his. But this time it was not boldness or courage, it was indeed fear, a fear that was so cold in comparison to the Targaryen’s hot breath on your face. You had seen the dagger strapped to his waist and you knew just by looking at him he would not hesitate to use it. He was a hot-tempered man and clearly unforgiving. That was a certainty. The only mystery that remained was; was he going to cut your tongue or slit your throat like a lamb? You gasped and closed your eyes tightly when you felt something touch your lips. But that something was too soft and too hot to be a blade. So, you opened your eyes again to see what was threatening you. It was a thumb. Prince Aemond’s thumb tugging at your lower lip, playing with the pulpy rosy flesh, slowly and rather … gently? Puzzled, you watched him gaze at your mouth with a burning curiosity, wondering what he could be thinking right now. “I will not cut out your tongue, my lady.” He finally said without removing his finger. “It would be ill-timed to enforce such a cruel punishment on a day of celebration. Besides, my brother might want to use that tongue.” Aemond tugged at your lower lip a little bit more, forcing your mouth to open enough to reveal your teeth and the tip of your tongue. Still and breathless, you kept observing him when his thumb came to brush your wet pink flesh and he consequently pursed his lips to prevent an inconvenient moan from escaping his mouth. But you heard it rumble in his chest and in his throat as if the sound had come from you. The proximity of his body perhaps. After all, his young scared face was so close now, you could hardly see the whole of it. “It’s a kiss.” He declared; his lips close to yours. “I beg you pardon.” You were choked up, your strangled voice as low as whisper. But you were not scared anymore. You were intrigued, disoriented and almost dizzy. Your cheeks were burning, your heart was pounding and you could feel a knot growing in your stomach. “I am of no use to one, yet I am absolute bliss to two. The small boy gets it for nothing. The young man has to steal it. The old man has to buy it. To the young girl, I am faith. To the married woman, hope. And to the old maid, charity. The answer is a kiss.” And as if your lips had just burnt him, Aemond let go of your face and stepped back. You gazed at him incredulous and lost but all his dark lilac eyes gave you was stoicism. The rage was gone, almost as if it had never been. And without saying another word, he stormed out of his own apartment, leaving you all alone. “Lilac eyes?” You whispered to yourself.

what's ilkhabar's relationship with the targs and her family
KING VISERYS I TARGARYEN ilkhabar wasn't particularly close with her father-in-law but she finds him pleasant and humorous to speak to. however with his ailing health, he was often kept on strong herbs and painkillers and he would forget the names of those around him, including ilkhabar. but she was also aware at how aemond privately feels that his father never cared for him.
QUEEN ALICENT HIGHTOWER ilkhabar initially clashed with alicent during their first meetings due to differences in cultural protocols and decorum and she often found her new mother-in-law to be overbearing and slightly insufferable. in turn, alicent mistrusted ilkhabar for several months and thought her deceitful and overly ambitious. but over time, their relationship developed and bettered and strengthened - and ilkhabar ended up respecting alicent and supporting her. and alicent ended up seeing her as a true daughter.
CROWN PRINCESS RHAENYRA TARGARYEN ilkhabar never knew princess rhaenyra very well. but in their brief interactions and meetings, she was very neutral. their relationship was initially polite and dignified - as expected from two noble women from differing houses. as for the matter of the parentage of rhaenyra's children, ilkhabar cared very little. she didn't care whether the children had velaryon blood or not because at the end of the day, they had targaryen blood and that made them contenders to the throne. but their relationship most likely deteriorated after aemond commited a certain murder that was probably a war crime.
PRINCE DAEMON TARGARYEN ilkhabar had always heard rumours and tales of the rogue prince. her initial opinion of him was that he was dangerous (and a correct opinion considering how she saw him lop off the velaryon's head in the middle of court) and he definitely wasn't someone who she would befriend so she probably stayed away from him. [note: i'd wait after episode 10 to properly comment on what happens after due to aforementioned war crime]
AEGON TARGARYEN they're friends and allies but in the way that they won't hesitate to push each other off a balcony if the other person breathes weirdly in their direction. ilkhabar thinks aegon is a half-drunk lout who doesn't deserve the throne (and ofc, she thinks aemond should take the throne) and aegon thinks ilkhabar is a stuck up prick but in the grand scheme of things like civil wars, they trust each other.
[note again: i got too tired making gifs last night 😭 so no more gifs my bad! 💜]
HELAENA TARGARYEN ilkhabar finds her sister-in-law to be sweet but difficult to talk to. she bears no ill feelings or grudges against helaena but they simply don't speak very often. ilkhabar is a very straight forward sort of person who dislikes riddles and so she often leaves conversations with helaena with a headache. that being said, she finds helaena to be a sweet and kind soul.
AEMOND TARGARYEN she's never seen this man in her life. [read tags]
LORD JALEH FAIDLAN she's her father's favourite child. he always doted on her growing up and she would spend hours with him poring over books and learning about the world. he taught her political intricacies and allowed her to accompany him into counsel meetings. she was heartbroken to leave him as she was to be married in westeros.
LADY QAMAR FAIDLAN ilkhabar has mother-issues. her mother always wanted a son so she never really paid attention to her three daughters - least of all, her youngest tempestuous daughter. ilkhabar would often act up or cause issues just to get her mother's attention because even if she was being scolded by her mother, at least she was noticed. ilkhabar carries around a certain grief about her mother - she hates her and loves her and no matter what - she can't out the part of her that came from her mother.
LADY RASHIDA AND DANIYAH FAIDLAN ilkhabar really does care about her older sisters. her eldest sister, rashida, may as well have been a mother to her when lady qamar was not. she often looked up to rashida and her clever wit and kind nature. her relationship with daniyah was a bit trickier as ilkhabar was always a cautious and calculating sort of person and daniyah was impulsive and (in ilkhabar's eyes: frivolous) but she would do anything to protect her sisters and support them.

Okay so I found a gif set that has more of the scene with Alicent and Helaena and Alicent says “oh, my dearest love” after Helaena, again, repeats her warning that there’s a beast beneath the boards and when she shoved Alicent away it struck me that that comment from her mother feels a little dismissive like “oh there she goes saying weird things again, poor strange thing” when Helaena is clearly scared and frustrated as hell given the way she says it with her teeth gritted (which we later learn, she was right to be scared) and the way she shoved Alicent away seems frustrated like “WHY WILL NONE OF YOU LISTEN TO ME??” Which I think is a good point cause yes most of her comments have somewhat been in riddles but has she ever been wrong? “You’ll have a dragon some day” “he’ll have to lose an eye” “spool of green, spool of black”, etc etc. I am very intrigued by Helaena and annoyed no one listens to her 😂
tbh that feels more like a writing problem to me. helaena is very clearly a dreamer but is not acknowledged as one by viserys her father who supposedly knows what dreamers are and who has considered himself a dreamer or wanted to be one at some point when he talks about the babe born to him wearing the conquerer's crown (aegon ii).
alicent obviously doesn't understand helaena or seems to know what dreamers are because dreamers are never talked about in this story outside of viserys and his dream + the prophecy of the song of ice and fire that belongs to aegon i the conquerer.
so yeah, i agree, helaena's probably rightly and justifiably frustrated that people won't understand her and take it as "one of her moments" when she's trying to warn them, but at the same time her targaryen side of the family can't recognize her as a dreamer how's her hightower side gonna know better about dreamers?
like at this point it feels like a gap in the writing not to address it properly. because it's not like the opposite is addressed. aegon calls her an idiot yes but that's aegon.
i assume alicent thinks she's just different than other children. idk
